A driver from Brampton has been pulled off the road after being clocked going nearly 60 km/h over the limit in a 100 km/h zone, police say.

The OPP said on Monday that officers in Sudbury spotted the driver speeding on Highway 69. Police say the Brampton driver was clocked driving at 159 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone.

Police stopped the vehicle and said a 57-year-old from Brampton was behind the wheel.

The Brampton driver was hit with both stunt driving and speeding charges, as well as a 30-day driver’s licence suspension.

Police also impounded the driver’s vehicle for 14 days.

The OPP is reminding drivers to follow the rules of the road and drive within the speed limit.
