Drivers should expect some delays because of construction on one of Mississauga’s major routes.
Sanitary sewer repairs by the Region of Peel have been affecting Lakeshore Road East, which is reduced to a single lane from Deta Road to Forty Second Street.
The lane reduction is expected to last until Sept. 30.
“Choose alternate routes if possible, as you can expect delays,” says a message on the region’s website. “We understand construction can be disruptive, and we appreciate your patience as we work to improve our community’s infrastructure. This work maintains and improves Peel’s world-class water systems, allowing us to provide reliable wastewater services needed to support a thriving community for life.”
The region also reminds drivers that construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe
“Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking through a construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes if possible.”
