An Oakville photo contest is being held in conjunction with the annual Heritage Fall Fair hosted by the Trafalgar Township Historical Society.

The topic of the first ever contest is The History and Spirit of Trafalgar Township in present day Oakville and is open to all amateur photographers.

“We are looking for photos, taken in the last year, that represent the unique character that we hold so dear and work to protect in Oakville,” said a spokesperson for the historical society.

“Photos can include old and heritage buildings, landmarks — both built and natural — as well as any other photos that capture the spirit and longevity of our town.”

There will be three age categories for photographers, children up to age 13, youth ages 14-19 and adult.

Photos must be printed in at least a five-inch by seven-inch format and delivered by 11 a.m. at the Heritage Fair Fair on Sept. 24.

Make sure you include your name, phone number and email address on the back of the photo and if you will be picking up your photo.

Judging will take place at 1 p.m. and prizes include Amazon gift cards and movie vouchers.

The winning photos will be displayed at the Palermo one-room schoolhouse.
