Tractor-trailer rollover closes on-ramp, creating ‘significant delays’ in Burlington, Hamilton

Due to a tractor-trailer rollover, an on-ramp to a major highway in the Hamilton-Burlington area is expected to be closed late into Tuesday night.
Officers from the the Burlington detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police closed the ramp from Nikola Tesla Boulevard to the Toronto-bound Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) highway around mid-afternoon. Photos shared to social media showed that both a tractor-trailer and a truck carrying a load of gravel had tipped over.
Around 8:15 p.m., motorists were told, “Expect (the) closure to last several more hours.”

The initial estimate, around 3:45 p.m., was the that the investigation would take 3-4 hours. No injuries were reported.

Nikola Tesla Blvd. is the connector between northeast Hamilton, Burlington, and the QEW. The roadway is known as Burlington Street East from all points west of the intersection with Ottawa St. E.
