Town of Milton set to buy nine new transit buses

The Town of Milton is buying nine new buses as part of its continuous plan to upgrade transit services.

The cost of the will be just over $4 million.

Four the buses will be the standard 12-metre size, while five will be smaller 8-metre models.

A report presented to Milton council pointed out the new buses will operate with diesel fuel while the town idevelopes a strategy to adopt buses that are more energy efficient – or “greener” – in future purchases.

The average life-span of a transit bus, according to the report, is 12 years.
