The Town of Milton is undergoing a Mature Neighbourhoods Character Study and is seeking community feedback on the proposed zoning bylaw amendments for the Timberlea and Dorset Park neighbourhoods as a result.

According to the Town, the character study aims to gain a better understanding when it comes to the elements that contribute to neighbourhood character.

Additionally, the study is assessing the policies of the Official Plan and the regulatory framework of the Town’s zoning bylaw and whether they are effective for managing developments as well as maintaining the character of mature neighbourhoods.

The project’s third phase includes the Fallingbrook, Forrest Grove, Bronte Meadows, Valley View, Dorset Park and Timberlea neighbourhoods and is partially complete.

Feedback has already been sought out on the proposed zoning bylaw amendment for the Fallingbrook, Forrest Grove, Bronte Meadows and Valley View neighbourhoods. The amendment that was approved introduces standards that are applicable to these mature neighbourhood areas.

The Town is currently seeking feedback on the proposed zoning regulations for the Timberlea and Dorset Park neighbourhoods and public consultation is open now until November 25, 2021.

A statutory public meeting is set to follow in the near future.
