Town of Milton kicking in $5,000 to bring RCMP Musical Ride to Campbellville

The Town of Milton is giving $5,000 to a Campbellville group to host the RCMP Musical Ride.

The idea was proposed by Ward 1 Town Councillor Kristina Tesser Derksen at this week’s council meeting.

The money will go to the Destination Campbellville Community Association (DCCA), a non-profit organization with a vision of making Campbellville and the surrounding area one of the best communities in Ontario in which to live.

The money will help offset the costs of hosting the RCMP Musical Ride on Sept. 19 and 21 at Woodbine Mohawk Racetrack, the group’s only sop in the GTA during its 150th anniversary tour across Canada.

In her motion, Tesser Derksen explained the event is not be eligible for the 2023 Milton Small Grant Program as it is expected to require paid admission for attendees over 12 years of age.
