Town of Milton considers new Adopt-a-Park/Road program for next spring
If you or your local business or organization is interested in keeping Milton looking great, a new program could be just what you’re looking for.
Milton Town Council has directed staff to present an Adopt A Park/Road program for this fall’s budget deliberations that can be implemented for next spring.
The idea was put forward by John Challinor, Ward 2 town councillor.
His motion explained the Town already supports clean-up efforts by providing supplies and coordinating litter pick-ups on an as-needed basis.
In addition, Milton community groups, individual residents and local businesses are increasingly interested in participating in clean-up initiatives as their contribution towards keeping Milton beautiful while demonstrating environmental responsibility.
Staff has been asked to establish a formal Adopt A Park/Road program, to support and acknowledge volunteers who regularly clean up designated areas throughout the municipality.
Challinor hopes to see the plan and proposed budget before the 2024 budget deliberations based on a spring 2024 program implementation.insauga's Editorial Standards and Policies advertising
