The Town of Halton Hills recently announced the launch of its Retrofit Halton Hills (RetrofitHH) pilot program, which will provide interest-free loans to help homeowners save on energy costs, improve the comfort and safety of their homes and reduce their impact on the environment.

The RetrofitHH program will help up to 20 homeowners implement home energy retrofits along with helping the Town evaluate the interest and process for future adoption by homeowners and contractors.

Homeowners who are approved for the program may use the funding to pay for air sealing, insulation improvements, new heating equipment, solar panels and more.

“The Retrofit Halton Hills pilot program is a key component of the Town’s Low Carbon Transition Strategy,” said Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette.

“Not only will it support the Town’s 2019 Climate Emergency Declaration, the pilot will also help us deliver a retrofit program that enables all homeowners to become a part of the climate change solution.”

Residents who receive the loans would then pay them back through their tax bills under the Local Improvement Charges Program.
