The Town of Halton Hills recently announced upcoming changes to its ActiVan Specialized Transit Program in an effort to improve service for riders.

Riders will now be able to book their trips seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Additionally, effective Jan. 1, 2022, ActiVan riders and Taxi Scrip and Youth Taxi Scrip users will be able to book trips online.

ActiVan will now offer cross-boundary travel to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Mount Pleasant GO Station in Brampton.

Effective Jan. 1, 2022, the fare will also increase to a flat rate of $4 for all trips, weekdays and weekends. Riders will also have the option to purchase monthly passes in the new year for $100 and receive unlimited trips.

“The ActiVan Specialized Transit Program is an essential service for many of our residents,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette.

“Improving accessibility to our services by removing barriers is an important step towards equity that ensures all our residents can get to where they need to go. I’m pleased the Town has been able to advance improvements in the ActiVan service so we can better serve our community.”
