Toronto’s oldest cigar shop is moving to Mississauga

Toronto’s oldest cigar shop is moving to Mississauga.

Frank Correnti Cigars, which has an over 100-year history in Toronto, will open at 167 Queen St. S., Streetsville, in November, according to a post on the shop’s Instagram.

Established in 1906, the cigar shop will close its location at 206 Spadina Ave. at the end of the year.

Frank Correnti Cigars is known for its custom-blended handmade cigars. They use natural leaf blending and aging in a tradition that dates back 300 years, according to their website.

The shop and factory have been in the Miller family (originally Møller), not related to Correnti, for five generations. Members of the Miller family were cigar makers back in their home country of Denmark.

Previously located at 606 King St. W., the shop and factory was forced to relocate to make way for a condo development around 2016, and moved to the Spadina location.

Over the years, celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Gene Hackman and Mel Gibson have purchased cigars from the Toronto shop.

The grand opening date for the Streetsville shop has not yet been announced. The shop will be operating at Spadina until the end of December, and both locations will be open for November and December.
