Toronto man charged with targeted shooting at Fort Erie home

A shooting at a Fort Erie home where a person was targeted has led to several charges against a Toronto man.

Niagara Regional Police say the incident took place in October at a home in the area of Village Creek Dr. between Old Mill Rd. and Ott Rd.

As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued.

Yesterday (Dec. 29), The Niagara Special Investigative Service Unit working with the Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad arrested Aynla Mustafa Hassan, 30, of Toronto and transported him back to Niagara.

Hassan faces several charges:

  • Attempted murder while using a firearm
  • Aggravated assault
  • Using a firearm during the commission of an offence
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition
  • Fail to comply with a release order

Hassan is being held in custody for a bail hearing.
