Toronto man charged after shots fired into car and home in Brampton

A Toronto man is facing charges for two shooting incidents in Brampton in 2022 that police believe are linked.

At 5 p.m. on March 20, 2022, a man in his 20s was driving his vehicle in the area of Castlemore Road and Drummondville Drive when a masked suspect drove close to the victim and fired multiple gunshots into the victim’s vehicle.

A second incident occurred at 11 p.m. on April 10, 2022, with the same suspect believed to have fired multiple gunshots into a residence and a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the area of Cottrelle Boulevard and Goreway Drive.

No injuries were reported in either shooting.

“Investigators believe that both of these were targeted incidents,” said Peel Regional Police.

Jatin Agnihotri, a 29-year-old Toronto man, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023 on two charges of discharging a firearm with intent.

He was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

The motive for the shootings has not been confirmed at this time.
