Toronto among multiple cities with lottery wins in latest draw

Anyone who played Lotto Max in this weekend’s draw may want to check their tickets, as multiple prizes were won across Ontario.

While the $70 million jackpot was not won, there were other big prizes.

According to an OLG press release shared by Tony Bitonti, vice-president of lottery marketing, the winnings were split between two second-prize tickets, each worth $141,274.20.

One ticket was sold in the Lennox and Addington/Frontenac area, while the other was purchased in Toronto.

Additional prizes were also awarded across the province, with players encouraged to check their tickets using the OLG app or at authorized retailers.

The jackpot now climbs to $75 million for the next draw on Tuesday, April 7.

Since 2009, Lotto Max players in Ontario have won more than $9.7 billion, including 121 jackpot wins and 1,000 Maxmillions prizes, according to OLG.

Big changes are also set to roll out for Lotto Max later this month. Starting April 14, the jackpot can grow to as high as $90 million, with multiple $100,000 prizes offered in every draw. Tickets will also include four selections of seven numbers, with numbers ranging from one to 52 for $6, along with improved overall odds of winning.

OLG says 100 per cent of its profits are reinvested into Ontario communities and programs, while also promoting responsible play through its PlaySmart initiative.
