Tornado touches down near Barrie as warnings continue north of Halton, Peel and Durham Regions

A tornado warning that has been issued north of Peel, Halton and Durham Regions is slowly moving southward and east.

Reports indicate a tornado did touch down after 3 p.m. near Barrie.

Right now, Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for parts of Caledon (to the west) and Port Perry (to the east) north to Orillia and is warning people in those areas to seek shelter.
