Top 5 Shopping Areas in Mississauga
Published December 17, 2012 at 8:05 pm

No matter what time of year, Mississauga is home to some pretty awesome shopping centers. Whether you’re new to Mississauga or a native looking to spice things up, we’ve come up with a list of the top five places to shop in the city.
5. Port Credit / Streetsville
The quaint neighbourhoods of Streetsville and Port Credit aren’t just for good eats; they are home to some awesome fashion shops as well. Offering locally-owned businesses, these two areas are perfect if you’re looking for unique items at affordable prices. Are you a thrifter? Kind Exchange in Streetsville and It’s Our Little Secret in Port Credit are two fun little consignment boutiques with gently used items sold at discounted prices.
Conveniently located right off of the QEW, Dixie Outlet Mall is perfect when searching for affordable clothing. The outlet mall is home to a variety of different stores, many of which are targeted at young adults, so you know you can always find amazing sales on your favourite items. Looking for a new pair of kicks for fall and a leather jacket to match? We’d suggest making a stop at the Aldo Shoes and Danier Leather outlets in Dixie Mall.
With its $100 million transformation in progress, Erin Mills Town Centre is one of the most popular places to shop in northwest Mississauga. Along with its modern new design, the mall is home to great fashion apparel stores for young women and it’s great if you’re searching for an outfit and accessories to head out to one of Mississauga’s finest bars or restaurants. Our Erin Mills picks for the young professional are RW&Co, Dynamite and Rainbow Jade. Don’t forget to make a pit stop at Freshii to re-energize after a long day of shopping.

2. Heartland
Oh the wonders of Heartland Town Centre — the ideal spot for northern Mississaugans to find specialty fashion goods at discount prices. Heartland is our favourite place to shop for sports apparel because if it’s sporting goods you’re looking for, the Adidas, Sport Chek, Underarmour and Reebok outlets are just what you need.
1. Square One
Square One just may be the epitome of the best shopping experience in Mississauga. Its chic and modern look, ongoing re-design and plethora of fashion options are what we love most about Square One, along with its convenient location in Mississauga’s City Centre. With over 360 stores, you can always find what you’re looking for. Our favourite store for women’s fashion in Square One is Zara, especially because it’s the only Zara location in Mississauga! That, along with all of the new stores on their way to Square One, means you may never need another shopping mall again.
Bonus:
Toronto Premium Outlets and Sherway Gardens
Though the Premium Outlets and Sherway don’t quite make the Mississauga cut-off, it’s no secret that these two shopping centres (just on the cusp of Mississauga) are often a go-to for many locals. The outlets, which offer brand names with amazing discounts, feature stores that can’t otherwise be found in Mississauga (for now), such as Kate Spade and Vince Camuto. As for Sherway (just off of the QEW), this infinity-shaped mall (also recently re-designed) is filled with high-end stores like BCBGMaxazria and Holt Renfrew and is great for those located in west Mississauga.
