Oh, Heartland Town Centre. The sprawling shopping mecca in the city’s north end is an ideal spot for shoppers looking for specialty fashion goods at discount prices. If you’re looking for home goods, affordable apparel and a commendable restaurant selection, Heartland has a lot to offer.

Like a lot of Mississauga shopping establishments, the centre is growing and evolving and welcoming new–and exciting–stores.

Here’s a look at five new or upcoming stores in Heartland that are worth getting excited about.

5) Visions Electronics

Although this store isn’t opening until spring of 2017, it’s a fun one to anticipate. At a time when so many people order electronics online, there’s something vintage and fun about a bona fide electronics store. This all-Canadian store, which already boasts several locations across the country, boasts a 15 per cent price beat guarantee and sells tv and video products, cameras and camcorders, tablets and computers, cell phones, furniture, small appliances and more.

Hobby and Toy Central is slated to open around Christmas (the signage is already up) and it’ll offer residents a unique option when it comes to holiday shopping. The store offers products for any age group, boasting products for babies, children, teens and adults. If you’re looking to buy a model car to assemble (how very vintage of you), you can find what you’re looking for here. You can also find puzzles, soldering tool kits, board games and more.3) JYSK

If it’s furniture you’re looking for, this newly-opened store is a great local option. JYSK is a Danish retailer that sells mattresses, furniture and assorted household decor. The store, which enjoyed a grand opening in early November, sells everything from holiday decor (trees, decoration, lighting and more) to household and office furniture to bath products. In terms of decor, it offers on-trend throw blankets, pillows, rugs, wall decor and more. The prices are fair and the selection is generous.2) La Sani Grill

If shopping makes you hungry, you might want to stop in to La Sani Grill when it opens (which may be some time this fall). The resto, which serves South Asian cuisine, currently operates two locations in Ajax and Scarborough. As far as food goes, the menu is vast and features chicken tikka tandoori, lamb shank, palak paneer, butter chicken, chicken tikka poutine and more. All in all, it’ll be a nice addition to a diverse neighbourhood thirsting for even more South Asian dining options.1) Beanwise

Formerly known as Cultured Coffee Bean, this coffee superstore just held its grand opening and stunned customers with its vast–and we do mean vast–selection of coffee and coffee accessories. At Beanwise, you can purchase traditional coffee beans, k-cups, loose leaf tea, syrups (they have an entire wall of incredibly exciting flavours and the prices are exceptional at roughly $9.99 for a Torani bottle), equipment (espresso machines, French presses, grinders and more) and glassware. It’s rare to see (and smell) so much coffee and coffee paraphernalia in one place and the experience is pretty one-of-a-kind.
