Here are the 5 hottest restaurants in Mississauga for the week of May 20-26, based on the amount of organic page views and searches these restaurants received on insauga.com.

5) Bayview Garden

We're just going to come out and say it: this place might be the best Chinese food restaurant in Mississauga. Bayview Garden is so hidden in a plaza at Central Parkway West and Burnhamthorpe that you might not even find it once you pull into the plaza. But once you get in, you are in for a treat. This place is also very reasonably priced. They have a combo that allows you to get four dishes for $34.95. Each dish we got (as seen in the picture below) was very well plated and the flavour profile of each morsel was as good as it gets. It even starts with free chicken bone soup!

4) Gold Star

Although Thai food is delicious and has been trending for quite some time, there are a few gems that sometimes go unnoticed in Mississauga. Offering by far some of the best Thai food in the city, Gold Star may be coming into people’s radars as of late, which is probably due in part to their availability on the UberEats app. The restaurant serves up some seriously authentic Pad Thai, and their service is impeccable. There menu also includes a selection of bubble teas.

3) K&B Sushi

While Mississauga has a ton of tasty AYCE Japanese joints, there’s always room for one more. When well-known (and for many, well-loved) AYCE joint Sushi Sushi shuttered its doors, some locals fretted over what would take the hot spot’s place. Fortunately for sushi aficionados, AYCE resto K&B Sushi recently set up shop in Sushi Sushi’s old Millcreek Drive location. K&B, which currently operates two other GTA locations--one in Oakville and the other in Etobicoke--offers a decadent mix of Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai cuisine. Like other tech-savvy AYCE joints, it utilizes an ultra-convenient iPad ordering system. In terms of the Mississauga menu, the resto offers sushi, sashimi, maki and hand rolls, tempura, sushi pizza, chicken katsu, udon, soba and donburi dishes.

2) El Mariachi Tacos and Churros

Recently, we announced that we were pretty pumped to hear that a brand new Mexican restaurant was set to open in a city that’s lacking in Mexican sit-down restaurants. Now, the newest addition to Mississauga’s growing Mexican scene has officially opened its doors. El Mariachi Tacos and Churros has set up shop in Streetsville and is now serving authentic tacos filled with all manner of delicious ingredients, including chorizo, carnitas, tinga, pozole and more. As the name implies, the resto also specializes in Churros. The restaurant has taken shape in the Graydon Pub building on Queen Street South. The brand new restaurant will provide the long-standing Cantina Mexicana with a little extra competition.

5) Capra's Kitchen

Look out Mississauga! Chef Massimo Capra and his signature 'stache and big personality are in our city. Chef Massimo recently opened a restaurant (featured in cover photo) called Capra's Kitchen in his hometown of Mississauga in the former Villa La Bella space along Lakeshore Rd. in the Clarkson neighbourhood. Chef Massimo is an accomplished celebrity chef, TV personality, author and Saugaboy who has an extensive resume. Starting from the ground up, his career began when he first started toiling in kitchens in Italy. He made his way to Toronto in the early 80s and worked in a few notable fine dining establishments in the city. His brand new restaurant offers lunch, dinner and, starting now, weekend brunch. His menu is full of delicious, classic Italian fare that’s sure to leave every diner satisfied.
