Top 5 Hottest Restaurants in Mississauga: July 22-28
Here are the 5 hottest restaurants in Mississauga for the week of July 22-28, based on the amount of organic page views and searches these restaurants received on insauga.com.
Located on the corner of Eglinton and Tomken is a place that you've passed by hundreds of times called Peter's on Eglinton. When you first walk in you, can't help but think that this is what all restaurants looked like in high-end hotels in the 70s. A quick scan of this place and it's obvious it's geared towards an older audience, and low and behold, Hazel McCallion was having her dinner in the booth next to me. I did see a lot of families here and why not? This place is very nice inside, spacious and the food is oh so good with huge portions.
Miga Korean Restaurant is located on Dundas West just past Erindale Park. When you walk in, you are greeted by a large and modern resto that has a BBQ hood over every table. All the meat is fresh and marinated to perfection. Also, Miga has 18 meats to choose from. Also, this is the only place that regularly replaces the grill so you aren't cooking on a blackened, dirty surface throughout the meal. They also grease the grill with a piece of fat, which is kind of a nice touch. One thing you have to know about Korean BBQ is that most places will only seat a minimum of two people, so bring a date or a friend.
3) Spice Lounge
Spice Lounge, located in the heart of Port Credit at Lakeshore and Stavebank, has some truly memorable gems. It has an extensive bar and food menu and serves up some refreshing, if not super sweet, sangria. Spice Lounge tends to get packed in the evenings, but the servers never fail to remain attentive. When it comes to after-hours fun, atmosphere is almost (just almost) everything. Spice Lounge succeeds in spades, making the most of its modest space with elegant stone, red accents, sexy mood lighting and a chic backlit bar. The high tables and dim lights scream, "date night" and they have live (but non-intrusive) music. It's perfect for late night drinks and apps for both friends and couples.
2) Roc’n Doc’s
You want a patio? You’ve come to the right place--especially since summer is finally here. Located in the heart of Port Credit, Roc’n Docs features live music every night of the week and is a staple in the live music scene in Mississauga. The venue has made it onto a number of Top 5 lists, including best patio, top Port Credit bars and more. The resto’s main level is equipped with a stage and the second level boasts one of the best rooftop patios the city has to offer. This casual restaurant offers a menu of pub-style eats, a variety of cocktails and beer.
Recently, we announced that we were pretty pumped to hear that a brand new Mexican restaurant was set to open in a city that's lacking in Mexican sit-down restaurants. Now, the newest addition to Mississauga's growing Mexican scene has officially opened its doors. El Mariachi Tacos and Churros has set up shop in Streetsville and is now serving authentic tacos filled with all manner of delicious ingredients, including chorizo, carnitas, tinga, pozole and more. As the name implies, the resto also specializes in Churros. The restaurant has taken shape in the Graydon Pub building on Queen Street South. The brand new restaurant will provide the long-standing Cantina Mexicana (soon to become Border MX) with a little extra competition.
