Top 5 Hottest Restaurants in Mississauga: Dec. 29--Jan. 4
Here are the 5 hottest restaurants in Mississauga for the week of Dec. 29-Jan 4, based on the amount of organic page views and searches these restaurants received on insauga.com.
5) Laari Adda
Laari Adda, an Indian and Pakistani street food restaurant, recently took shape in the old Bistro Narra location in the Thomas St. and Winston Churchill area and it’s serving up some very fine South Asian cuisine. The restaurant, which is open late, offers dine-in, takeout and catering service. It also offers a bright and colourful interior that draws upon the vibrant decor frequently encountered in India and Pakistan. As far as food goes, restaurant operators say that "Laari Addas in Pakistan are famous for delicious street food and that is exactly what we are bringing back with a modern twist." One such modern menu item? Nutella parathas. The resto also offers delicious butter chicken, great service and exceptional ambiance.
Watching the culinary landscape is fascinating, as cuisine—much like clothing and decor—can seemingly come in and out of fashion. For the first time ever, a restaurant that celebrates Peruvian food (and more specifically, Peruvian and Japanese fusion cuisine) is open in Mississauga. A few short years ago, a trip to a Peruvian restaurant meant a trip to St. Clair West or Oakville. Now, there’s an option in Mississauga--and it’s also great for anyone who loves non-traditional Japanese cuisine. As far as food goes, Kage--which has made its home in the 5&10 area--serves sea bass tiradito, beef tataki, ceviche, karaage, Yokozuna's street roll , blow torched salmon escabeche, anticuchos, hot stone duck fried rice and more. The resto also boosts a modern interior and a satisfying cocktail menu.
3) Tomo Sushi
This gem, which also operates a location in Richmond Hill, recently took over the space once occupied by Sushi Tei. While many residents were sad to see Sushi Tei go, they should be happy that a Japanese place this good took its spot. This place, which offers a small, complimentary noodle dish at the start of your meal, has some of the best and freshest sushi and sashimi in Mississauga. It also offers omakase, which means customers can allow the chef to customize a meal for them. This isn’t a sushi place you want to miss.
You know you've passed by this place, located on the east side of HWY 10 on Lakeshore in Port Credit, so many times. Boasting a big blue exterior, you can't miss it (and you don't want to). This place is especially nice in the summer, as it has a gorgeous and huge patio overlooking Port Credit. This is a higher-end Greek restaurant that has a real traditional Greek feel to it. We assume it has that traditional high-end Greek feel to it because, according to our server, the owner also owns a five-star restaurant in Greece. The server also said the only difference between a five-star Greek place and this one is that a five-star doesn’t serve pita.
Look out Mississauga! Chef Massimo Capra and his signature 'stache and big personality are in our city. Chef Massimo recently opened a restaurant called Capra's Kitchen in his hometown of Mississauga in the former Villa La Bella space along Lakeshore Rd. in the Clarkson neighbourhood. Chef Massimo is an accomplished celebrity chef, TV personality, author and Saugaboy who has an extensive resume. Starting from the ground up, his career began when he first started toiling in kitchens in Italy. He made his way to Toronto in the early 80s and worked in a few notable fine dining establishments in the city. His brand new restaurant offers lunch, dinner and weekend brunch and his menu is full of delicious, classic Italian fare that’s sure to leave every diner satisfied.
