Gnocchi is the perfect dish if you’re in the mood for comfort food that’s creamy and filling, but somehow will always leave you wanting just a little more. There’s something addicting about those soft dumplings that will hook you from the very first bite and keep you entranced until the last. Maybe it’s the delightful rose sauce or the exquisite alfredo, but one thing’s for sure: there’s no such thing as too much gnocchi!

We’ve rounded up our top 5 gnocchi dishes in Mississauga just for you!

5) Alioli Ristorante

Alioli Ristorante is a casual venue, and it’s perfect for an after-work dine-in spot. It has a very modern feel and should be on your list for after-work drinks and gnocchi! I tried their gnocchi con gamberi which was gnocchi with shrimp, diced tomatoes, green onion and finished with a rose sauce. This dish was packed with flavour and I contemplated getting another because it was just that good! Your taste buds will thank you later.

4) Goodfellas Wood Oven Pizza

Good Fellas has an amazing gnocchi dish that’s as good as it sounds. Are you ready for this? Pan-roasted mushrooms, gorgonzola cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh garlic and extra virgin olive oil topped with fresh arugula. This gnocchi was impeccable and will have you coming back again and again. Not only are their dishes authentic and delicious, but the venue itself is also stunning and once you step into that restaurant (either its Streetsville or City Centre location), you will instantly be transported to Italy. Everything about this place screams elegant and exquisite.

3) Papa Giuseppe’s

Papa Giuseppe’s in Port Credit is the perfect little date spot because who wouldn’t want to indulge in romantic gnocchi date by the lake? I tried their parmigiano and ricotta stuffed potato dumplings made in a formaghi cream sauce. This dish was creamy, enjoyable and great for a low-key date night!

2) Casalinga Ristorante

Casalinga is a very pretty restaurant with its cute fairy lights and nice interior. They accommodate all dietary restrictions and will serve you with a smile! This place serves up appetizing gnocchi that’s on the milder side. I tried their gnocchi sorrentina, which is their house-made potato dumplings tossed with tomato sauce and finished with buffalo mozzarella. One tip: be sure to ask for extra cheese!

1) Michael’s Back Door

Michael’s Back Door Restaurant is super cozy and, in our opinion, the perfect spot to dine in and devour some delicious gnocchi. The servers are extremely nice, homely and attentive to your needs. Now, let’s talk about the gnocchi: I tried their gnocchi napolitana, which are homemade potato dumplings, tossed with fresh basil, shaved parmigiano Reggiano served in an exquisite tomato sauce. The melted cheese was the perfect finish to this dish!
