If you have never tried deep fried dill pickles in Mississauga, you have absolutely no idea what your taste buds are missing. This somewhat unusual appetizer is an explosion of taste and if done correctly with the right dill pickle, it’s incredibly memorable. The dish is best when the pickle is nice and moist and served with on-point dipping sauce.

Next time you are out with the boys, start with deep-fried dill to get your taste buds tingling.

Here are the top 5 places to get deep fried dill pickles in Mississauga:

5 – Coopers Pub

The classic wood-finished tavern offers a cozy environment to watch the game with your friends and a projection screen for a bigger picture. The bar boasts good food and prices along with an interesting selection of brews on tap, including Strongbow, Rickards (Red & White) and Hoegaarden. Coopers Pub is comfortable and located right on Burnhamthorpe near Wolfdale. Don’t forget that during Leafs, Raptors and NFL games there are always great specials going on that include the obvious beer and wings combos. As for the pickles, they’re awesome.

4 – Holy Smokez

Located in an unassuming strip plaza on Dundas between Tomken and Dixie is a unique sandwich shop called Holy Smokez BBQ Sandwiches. It’s unique because we really haven’t seen many BBQ style joints in Mississauga. All the sandwiches are not only barbequed, but cooked over indirect heat and smoked with wood for as long as 18 hours. You will find BBQ sandwiches such as smoked sausage, pulled pork, and pork ‘n’ slaw. I was salivating just reading the menu. The deep fried dill pickles are a good start to any BBQ dish!

3 – Drake, a Firkin Pub

If you haven’t been here in a while, you are in for a treat. Back in 2013, this old school British pub underwent a complete makeover and now boasts a sleeker, more stylish aesthetic and the food is damn good! The new menu has a lot to offer, including deep fried dill pickles.

2 – Failte

Failte has really upped their food game over the last couple of years. Perhaps it was the new competition in City Centre or the new chef. Either way, the patrons are the ultimate winners in the delicious and reinvigorated pub-style menu shakeup. Failte, known for its loud live music and chicken wings, also serves some amazing deep fried dill pickes.

1 – Union Social

Ah…good old Union Social. What else can be said about Union Social other than they serve good food and now amazing deep fried dill pickles? The casual restaurant located in a plaza in the business park area along Derry Rd that caters to local businesses and diners who spot the resto from the street. It’s perfect for a low-key night out.
