When it comes to great bakeries in Mississauga, everything is important.

Are the croissants crispy on the outside and soft on the inside? Are the sweet treats decadent and satisfying? Is the bread warm and soft and ready to serve?

Mississauga has you covered with a wide range of bakeries that have everything from tasty treats, cakes, fresh-baked bread, homemade pies and so much more.

Here are the top 5 bakeries in Mississauga.

5) Lazar Bakery

Imagine yourself in bread heaven. Better known as Lazar Bakery, this little slice of deliciousness is located at Central Parkway and Confederation. Shockingly bigger than it looks (and slightly hidden in the corner plaza), Lazar Bakery is the spot you want to hit for all things bread. Baked daily, Lazar shines in the bun department. They’ve got dinner rolls as well as those delectable Portuguese sandwich buns. The bread selection is incredible, but we highly recommend the fresh-baked white whole loaf that you can slice yourself at home or have a staff member slice up for you on-site. It’s melt in your mouth delicious.

4) La Novita

La Novita is a quaint little bakery located in the heart of Mississauga off John Street (Hurontario and Dundas) area. This bakeshop specializes in pastries, bread and cakes and their chocolate croissants are definitely crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Not to mention the chocolate drizzle on top. Not only does it look incredible, but it also tastes absolutely divine. We highly suggest pairing one of these with a rich latte while playing French music in the background.

3) Truscott Italian Bakery

This bakery has been a staple among bakeries in Mississauga and is one of the more popular establishments in the city. They offer freshly baked bread, pastries, cakes and more that are sure to make your mornings much better. As you enter, you are greeted with loaves of bread, a variety of cheese and meats, and a wide assortment of sweet treats. The bakeshop also serves up delicious beverages. We highly suggest trying a latte topped with a dusting of cinnamon. It’s absolutely heavenly.

2) Cordi Italian Bakery

This bakery is definitely a hidden gem. They have everything from fresh-baked bread, pastries, cakes, doughnuts, pizzas and a ton of speciality delicacies such as cheeses, cured meats, antipasti items, jams, pickles, pasta, vinegar and oils. Their doughnuts are made fresh on a daily basis and they are quite popular. The customer service is excellent and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Since we can’t travel to Italy, we recommend visiting this bakery for the ultimate Italian experience.

1) French Corner Patisserie

This bakery has a gorgeous and classy interior and all of their baked goods are fully Halal. The moment you step into this shop, you will be greeted with an array of beautiful baked goods that are arranged perfectly in their showcase. We tried their trio chocolate mousse which is layers of dark, milk and white chocolate, their fruit tart which is a combination of mango puree and fresh cream on top of the vanilla biscuit and their adorable mini cheesecake which was just as decadent as the other chocolate goodies we had the pleasure of trying. This is the perfect spot to check out when you’re craving an exquisite dessert.
