For those looking to relax and discover new shows but unsure where to start, Netflix provides a weekly summary of the top 10 trending TV series available for streaming both in Canada and internationally.

These rankings are determined by the ‘views’ for each title during the previous week (Monday to Sunday).

“Views are calculated as the total hours watched divided by the runtime and are rounded to the nearest 100,000” notes Netflix on their website.

Netflix individually reviews every season and film, enabling shows like Bridgerton to have several seasons appear in the Top 10 list if they’re widely watched.

“The total number of weeks a season or film has spent on the list is also provided, reflecting the dynamic nature of titles moving in and out of the Top 10,” Netflix says.
