Tip from motorist results in speeding ‘reckless’ teen driver being pulled over in Oakville

A “reckless” teenage driver has lost their license and had their Mercedes SUV impounded after a fellow motorist tipped police of them speeding through an Oakville neighbourhood.
Halton Regional Police pulled over the 17-year-old teen last Friday (March 31) around 3 p.m. near Bronte Provincial Park after he was allegedly going 43 km/h over the 60 km/h speed limit.
“Another motorist told the officer this driver was reckless before the stop,” HRPS said on Twitter.

As a result, the teenager’s driver’s license has been suspended for 30 days and their white Mercedes SUV will be impounded for 14 days.
“Dashcam of dangerous driving is always a welcome report to police,” HRPS said in a tweet. “It may save a life.”
