Tim Hortons to Pilot All-Day Breakfast at Several GTA Locations
Eggs, sausage, english muffins, and more - if you love breakfast and wish you could get it all day long, you’re in luck. A new fast food all-day breakfast option is coming to a Tim Hortons location near you!
Canadian coffee giant Tim Hortons announced on Wednesday May 30 that it will indeed be piloting all-day breakfast at select GTA locations in Hamilton and Burlington starting in summer 2018.
Typically, Tim Hortons’s breakfast selection ends at noon, and if you’ve ever gotten to your local Timmies five minutes too late for breakfast, you know the struggle.
According to The Canadian Press, Tim Hortons will pilot the all-day breakfast service in just a dozen locations to start.
If the pilot is successful, Timmies plans to roll out all-day breakfast in even more locations across the country.
The cafe will also introduce a children’s menu, and a delivery and loyalty program to “regain the trust of franchisees and customers.”
It’s true that some franchisees and customers have been upset by the company’s recent cost-cutting measures in wake of the recent minimum wage hike.
According to The Canadian Press, the coffee giant has also been experiencing some delays in supply deliveries.
Tim Hortons is also going through a renovation plan worth a whopping $700 million. According to The Canadian Press, the big renovation will also cost franchisees $450,000 per restaurant.
That being said, the all-day breakfast announcement might bring Tim Hortons up to par with some of its fast food competitors.
In particular, McDonald’s and A&W already serve breakfast throughout the day. McDonald’s has also started selling bagels.
You might be wondering - how has Tim Hortons not already hopped on the all-day breakfast train?
Well, according to The Canadian Press, the cafe did a market test on all-day breakfast in 2013, but it wasn’t successful enough to roll out.
Tim Hortons offers a variety of breakfast options that could soon be available all day, including hot breakfast sandwiches, bagel BELTs, grilled breakfast wraps, hash browns, and even oatmeal.
All-day breakfast could be available at Hamilton and Burlington locations as soon as late summer 2018.
