It'll be Canada vs Finland in a pre-tourney game for the IIHF Women's Championships in Niagara Falls on April 1 at the Gale Centre.

Quite surprisingly, there are still tickets left for the pre-tournament game between Canada’s National Women’s Hockey Team versus Finland at the Gale Centre Arena on April 1.

Given that it’s a 2,170 seat venue, this is the closest that most spectators will ever get to the elite national players for the low price of $20.

With the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) 2023 Women’s World Championship slated to start on April 5 in Brampton, organizers have released dates for seven pre-tournament games in six different communities and Niagara Falls was fortunate enough to be chosen as one.
“The pre-tournament games provide a great opportunity to share our love of hockey and Canadian hospitality by welcoming these exceptional athletes to Ontario,” said Fran Rider, president and chief executive officer of the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association.

“Games will be exciting, provide inspiration to young girls and others in the various communities and will support the growth and development of the game at local levels.”

The game at Gale Centre Arena (5152 Thorold Stone Rd) will see the puck drop at 7 pm. Tickets will be available for purchase in person at the Gale Centre or by calling (905) 356-7521 ext. 5601.
