Stormy weather could impact flights at Pearson Airport in Mississauga.
Thunderstorms are forecast on Friday in southern Ontario, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
There is a 30 per cent chance of showers Friday morning.
The risk of thunderstorms starts in the afternoon and continues into the evening and overnight.
Around 10 to 15 mm of rain could fall throughout the day.
The temperature is expected to reach a high of 23 C but with the humidex it will feel like 28 C. It could fall to 12 C in the evening.
Northwest winds of up to 30 km/h are expected in the afternoon and evening.
Pearson Airport said their specialists are keeping an eye on the storm system, which could bring rain, lightning and hail.
“As always, unsettled weather has the potential to impact some flights,” Pearson posted on X. “If lightning strikes within eight kilometres of Pearson, our Lightning Warning System is activated to notify all employees working outdoors to take shelter inside, which can impact some airport functions.”
