Police are searching for a car and its occupants who were involved in a violent road rage incident on Hwy. 401 near Pearson Airport in Mississauga early this morning (Sept. 29) in which an object thrown from the vehicle smashed the window of an SUV.

Toronto OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in a video statement posted to Twitter that the confrontation unfolded at about 5 a.m. on Hwy. 401 eastbound approaching Hwy. 427 and the airport.

He said police received reports that an eastbound SUV was involved in a road rage incident with a vehicle described “as possibly a VW Jetta.”

“During the interaction, one of the occupants from that smaller VW-style vehicle threw an object towards the SUV, smashing one of the windows on the rear driver’s side of the vehicle,” Schmidt said.

The vehicles reportedly then went their separate ways, with the SUV proceeding on to Pearson Airport while the smaller vehicle was last spotted heading southbound on Hwy. 427.

Schmidt said there were no injuries.

He added police want to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have information related to the car involved in the confrontation.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-235-4981.
