Three people remain at large after a bank was robbed in Bowmanville yesterday morning.

Durham Regional Police say they responded to a call made shortly after 9 a.m. on January 9 from the TD Bank on Longworth Ave. The call reported two men and a woman had entered the bank minutes earlier.

The two men approached a teller and passed them a note demanding cash. The woman meanwhile waited by the entrance and held the doors open.

After grabbing the cash, the trio fled the scene heading north on foot. They made off with an unknown amount of cash.

Police describe the suspects as all having small builds and being in their early 20s. The men wore dark-hooded sweaters and the woman wore a black winter jacket with a fur collar.

It’s been a busy couple of days for robberies in the Region with pharmacies in Oshawa and Pickering targeted on Sunday morning. Each robbery was committed by two men and a woman though police have not said whether or not they believe the incidents are connected.

Anyone with information can call the Robbery Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5355 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
