Three schools put on hold-and-secure following reports of man with a weapon in Brampton

Multiple schools in Brampton have been placed on hold-and-secure orders due to a possibly armed man in the area.
Peel Regional Police say officers were called about the incident shortly after 11:45 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 22).
Police say they received reports of a male in the area of Morningmist Street and Clearspring Lane in Brampton who was “possibly seen with a weapon.”
No threats have been reported and police say officers were out checking the area.
Police placed nearby Harold M. Brathwaite Secondary School, Great Lakes Public School and St. Isaac Jogues Elementary School on hold-and-secure orders as a precaution.
Police said the hold-and-secure orders were lifted around 12:30 p.m. No suspects were located and no description of the individual has been released.
A spokesperson for Peel Regional Police said there is no threat to public safety.
