Mississauga $100,000 lotto winner Demitra

Demitra Kiriakopoulos has some extra money — $100,000 to be exact — to put in her purse these days.

The Mississauga woman recently came into the new cash thanks to a set of three purses she uncovered while scratching her Instant Festive 5K lottery ticket.

Kiriakopoulos, 55, who says she also enjoys playing the OLG’s Instant Plinko game in addition to other holiday-themed scratch-and-win tickets, added this is her first big lottery win.

“I was playing my ticket and saw I uncovered three purses. I lost it,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings.

The lucky winner added that “I ran downstairs to tell my mom (and) she didn’t believe me at first.”

Kiriakopoulos said she plans to save her winnings and pay some bills.

“It feels amazing. It’s such an adrenaline rush,” she said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart, on Creditview Road in Mississauga.
