Three People Charged After Firearm Located During Vehicle Investigation in Mississauga

Three people are facing charges after a firearm was located during a vehicle investigation in Mississauga.

On Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, at around 1 a.m., Peel Police officers investigated a vehicle in the area of Dundas Street East and Wharton Way in the city.

Further investigation into the occupants of the vehicle resulted in a loaded firearm being located.

As a result, the following suspects are facing the following alleged charges.

Kian Smith, a 27-year-old man from Quebec:

  • Possession of a loaded firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm

The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019.

Kashif Bentley-Jean, a 22-year-old man from Quebec:

  • Possession of firearm, contrary to order
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of a loaded firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Breach of probation order (X2)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019.

Markuss Thoby, a 26-year-old man from Quebec: 

  • Possession of firearm, contrary to order
  • Possession of a loaded firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm

The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019.
