Halton police rescued three stand-up paddleboarders in Oakville last night.

According to a police spokesperson, the three water sport enthusiasts left from Bronte Beach and were discovered about a kilometre offshore by the Halton police Marine Unit.

It wasn’t known how long they were in Lake Ontario and they had no safety equipment with them.

Police want to remind paddleboarders to have safety equipment with them, including life jackets, whistles and cell phones, in case of emergency.
