A Mississauga neighbourhood is reporting over 7% COVID-19 positivity

Three areas in Mississauga are among those with the highest COVID-19 percent positivity rates (percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in the area) in Ontario.

Toronto-based research group ICES listed postal code areas in Ontario with the highest percent positivity rates for the week of September 12 to 18.

Of the top 50 listed, three are in Mississauga:

L5E at 7.03%
16th highest positivity in Ontario

L5L at 6.16%
26th highest positivity in Ontario

L4T at 5.67%
32nd highest positivity in Ontario

For the week of September 12 to 18, Peel had the seventh worst COVID-19 positivity out of Ontario’s 34 public health units, with 3.24% positivity. Ontario overall ranked 12th at 2.64% positivity.

The top 15 public health units are listed above

For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of September 12 was 2.6%, down 0.8% from the previous week.

Ontario has reached 80% vaccine coverage of at least one dose and 74% coverage for both doses.
