Three charged, one on the loose after armed Clarington home invasion

Three men have been charged for an armed home invasion in Clarington last weekend as Durham Regional Police continue the search for a fourth suspect still at large.
Two armed men broke into a home on Hwy 2 in Bowmanville shortly before 6:30 p.m. July 23. The pair took off from the home when they learned the resident had called 911. They hopped on a waiting getaway motorcycle and fled the scene before police arrived.
The following Monday, July 25, police found a suspect, identified as William Albers, 27 of Clarington, driving a black BMW near Simcoe St and Hall St in Oshawa.
Police searched the car and say they found a loaded pistol inside. They arrested Albers and two other occupants of the car on gun possession charges.
The two occupants Paul Taskas, 50 of Oshawa, and Jaiden Ruttan-Lunau, 23 of Clarington, face charges of possession of prohibited firearm knowingly without a licence, unauthorized possession in a car and unauthorized possession of a gun.
Albers meanwhile is charged with the same along with; uttering threats, disguise with intent, assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, fail to comply with release conditions, two counts of pointing a firearm, using a gun to commit indictable offence, and break and enter.

Taskas and Ruttan-Lunau were released with conditions. Albers however will remain in custody until a bail hearing. Police continue to investigate the break-in. They are still looking for a second home invasion suspect.
