Three Hamilton restaurants among Top 100 most romantic in Canada

Foodies have weighed in and it seems Hamilton is home to three of Canada’s most romantic restaurants.

Online restaurant reservation service OpenTable has released its list of The 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in Canada in 2022, which is based on reviews from diners.

“Many things come together to create a romantic dining experience—world-class cuisine, attentive (but never intrusive) service, and a unique ambiance,” the OpenTable website says.

“Canada’s 100 Most Romantic Restaurants 2022 showcases those spots that make it easy for diners to connect and create amazing memories.”

Hamilton’s Berkeley North, Victoria’s Restaurant and Rapscallion & Co. are among the 42 Ontario restaurants that made the list.

Of the three, Berkeley North has the most reviews on the app, with 1,002. It receives a rating, out of 5, of 4.8. For food, diners gave it a 4.7, a 4.8 for service, 4.7 for ambience and 4.5 for value.

Rapscallion has 458 reviews on the app and earned an overall rating of 4.9. For the food, Rap got a 4.9, a 4.9 for service and ambience and a 4.7 for value.

Based on 421 reviews, Victoria’s earned a 4.8 overall and a 4.8 for food and service, a 4.7 for ambience and 4.4 for value.

Berkeley North is no stranger to this list: it’s been a regular romantic hotspot on OpenTable several times over the years. It’s also ranked among Canada’s best restaurants for vegetarians.

Nine of Ontario’s 42 most romantic restaurants on the list are in the nearby Niagara region.

To compile the Top 100, more than 726,000 reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners were analyzed.
