Three food products recalled from Pickering, Ajax, Durham grocery shelves

Durham Region’s Health Department has put out a recall on three food products this week.

Eat Smart brand Asian Sesame Chopped Salad Kit and Veggie Foodle brand Green Zucchini Whole Noodles have both been recalled due to Listeria monocylogenes, while Mr. Porky brand Original Scratchings has been recalled because of reports of salmonella.

If you think you became sick from consuming a contaminated product, call your doctor. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes or Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
