Three dozen Burlington homes affected by day-long power outage

A power outage is affecting about three dozen homes in a Burlington residential neighbourhood southwest of Fairview St. and Walker’s Line.
According to the Burlington Hydro Twitter account, repairs are ongoing to restore power to Thornwood/Geneva Park/Windsor Crt. neighbourhood.
The initial reports indicated a primary underground cable had been damaged by a contractor digging and would be repaired by 4 p.m.
Around 4 p.m., an update was posted that said repairs on the underground cable will take longer than first reported and are currently expected to be completed by 9 p.m.
