Multiple fatalities have been reported after a multi-vehicle collision in southern Ontario.
An OPP report from today has stated that yesterday at 6 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 7 and New Heights Rd after a collision involving a passenger vehicle and four motorcycles.
Upon arriving on the scene, emergency crews determined that the driver of the passenger vehicle, an 18-year-old male from Peterborough, and a 72-year-old male motorcyclist from Dunchurch were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second motorcyclist, a 65-year-old male from Barrie, was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries, where he was later pronounced deceased, while a third 30-year-old male motorcyclist from Sudbury was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
A fourth motorcyclist, a 36-year-old male from Sudbury, was treated and released at the scene of the collision.
No closures have been reported as a result of the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are encouraging anyone with information or dashcam footage of the collision to contact them directly.
