Dubbed “Project Copper” by police, this investigation was aimed at the gang’s involvement in drug trafficking and firearms possession throughout the Region of Peel and the GTA.

On Friday (March 4th) members of the Specialised Enforcement Bureau officers assisted by law enforcement agencies from Toronto, York, Halton and the RCMP executed 11 search warrants throughout the GTA.

Police say they arrested four men including three from Brampton and recovered multiple firearms, drugs and stolen property including:

Nicholas McInnis, 28, of Toronto, has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking

Nick Milinovich, Acting Chief of Peel Regional Police Service, said police are devoted to preventing drug trafficking and illegal firearms activity and assured “that such behaviour will not be tolerated.”

“This investigation is another demonstration of the effectiveness of that commitment which has prevented potential negative outcomes,” Milinovich said.

Penny, Lewis and McInnis were all held pending bail hearings while Callisto was released with a future court date in May at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
