Thorold, Welland receive over $685K in federal funding for local projects

Thorold and Welland saw a combined $685,683 given to them from the Canada Community Revitalization Fund yesterday (August 12).
Niagara Centre MP Vance Badawey visited his riding bearing gifts for local community projects.
Welland received $313,797 to upgrade the amenities at Maple Park, improving the accessibility to meet Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act standards.
Thorold collected $150,000 to build one kilometre of trail onto the existing Decew Heritage Loop trail, which will finally link it to the Bruce Trail.
As well, a Thorold group, The Friends of Laura Secord, was given $221,886 to improve DeCew House Heritage Park in Thorold.
