Thorold man, young offender busted for drug trafficking after overdose

After the January drug overdose of a St. Catharines man in his home, Niagara Police have been on the hunt for the traffickers who sold the lethal narcotics to him.

Soon the Opioid Enforcement Unit and Street Crime Unit suspected the driver of a white Mercedes was shuttling around the stash, heading from residence to residence throughout the area as a delivery service.

Nailing the car’s location down to a Thorold home, yesterday (March 8) the police showed up with a warrant, arrested two Thorold men and seized drugs and other paraphernalia, including 26 grams of suspected cocaine (street value – $3,200), drug packaging, a money counter, a digital scale, brass knuckles, and a replica Glock style pellet gun.

One, a young offender who by law can’t be named, was charged with trafficking illegal drugs, possession of drugs for the purposes of trafficking and possession of al illegal weapon.

Damon Robert Hale, 21, of Thorold was charged with possession of drugs for the purposes of trafficking.

Both were released  with future court dates.
