A Thorold man’s retirement nest egg just got some significant padding after he won a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $73,147.50 in the Sept, 27 draw.
Jason Galasso, 52, says he has been playing the lottery for 30 years and this is his first major win.
“My wife is the first person I told about my win. She told me she didn’t believe me because I’m always joking around,” the retail management worker shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.
“I checked my ticket on the OLG app and was in disbelief. I told myself I needed to sleep on it. I just couldn’t believe it.”
He plans to put his win toward investments and retirement. “This feels fantastic. I’m living the dream!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Front Variety on Front Street in Thorold.
