This week, the Équité Association released its annual list of the most commonly stolen vehicles in Canada.
The organization, which focuses on insurance crime and fraud prevention, revealed that the most commonly stolen vehicle in Canada last year was the Toyota RAV4.
In Ontario specifically, however, the vehicle that took the number one spot is different.
The Équité Association said the Honda CR-V was the most stolen vehicle of 2024 in Ontario.
Following that, the Dodge Ram 1500 series took the number two spot, which was its same ranking nationally.
And in third place in Ontario was the Honda Civic.
That’s ranked by the number of thefts.
But in terms of theft frequency, the results were different and the Honda CR-V didn’t even make the top 10.
In Ontario, the Lexus TX SUV was the most stolen vehicle in that category, with a staggering 23.75 per cent theft rate.
In second was the Toyota Grand Highlander (7.69 per cent) and in third was the Land Rover Defender series (4.39 per cent).
The full results can be found on the Équité Association website.
