‘This cheque is beautiful;’ Hamilton man wins $50,000 on scratch ticket

The winning Instant Crossword scratch ticket was purchased at Husky on Parkdale Ave. in Hamilton.
A Hamilton man won a $50,000 top prize playing Instant Tropical Crossword from Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG).
Richard Hogan is a regular lottery player.
“Instant Crossword is my favourite game,” he shared from the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “This is my first big win.”
Richard, a retiree, plans to purchase a new car and medical devices. He’s also going to pay some bills with his winnings.
“This cheque is beautiful,” he smiled.

Instant Tropical Crossword is available for $3 a play, and the top prize is $50,000. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.91.
The winning ticket was purchased at Husky on Parkdale Ave. in Hamilton.
