This Canadian airline will cancel all U.S. flights by summer 2026

A major Canadian airline is preparing to make one of its most significant network changes, with plans to suspend all remaining flights to the United States by early summer.

According to the aviation consulting firm Ailevon Pacific, Air Transat is expected to phase out its final U.S. routes in the coming months.

The airline is scheduled to suspend its remaining U.S. service in stages:

• Montreal to Orlando ending May 4
• Quebec City to Fort Lauderdale ending May 30
• Montreal to Fort Lauderdale ending June 13

Following these changes, the airline will no longer operate scheduled flights to the United States after June 13, 2026, the report states.

Additional adjustments outlined in the report include reduced capacity to select Cuba destinations in March and April 2026, along with the suspension of Orlando and Fort Lauderdale service from Montreal and Quebec City.

WestJet has also recently begun scaling back several of its U.S. routes, dropping service to major destinations including Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and Phoenix.

In addition, the latest data from Statistics Canada shows fewer Canadians returning from the United States year over year, while aviation analytics firm Cirium reported a decline in Canada–U.S. flight activity in late 2025.

Air Transat has not indicated the reason for these route changes.
