Thirty-three school bus cancellations; mostly in Clarington and Ajax

School bus cancellations from a long-running driver shortage issue in Durham Region are back on the rise Friday morning with 33 route cancellations, including 18 in Clarington and twelve in Ajax.

Oshawa (3) also saw cancellations.

Schools affected in Clarington include St. Stephen, Clarington Central and CIS high schools and Clarington Central Intermediate, Lydia Trull, Courtice North, St. Francis of Assisi and Good Shepherd elementary schools.

Five schools are affected in Ajax, including Carruthers Creek (four routes), Lincoln Alexander, Lincoln Avenue, Rosemary Brown and Cadarackque public elementary schools.

Morning runs only at three Oshawa high schools – O’Neil, Pereyma and McLaughlin – are also affected by cancellations.
