Thirty new COVID-19 cases in Durham – nine from Pickering

Thirty new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Durham Region Wednesday, with nine coming from Pickering.

Ajax was the only other community reporting more than five and Oshawa reported just two cases yesterday. Brock, as it has all week, reported zero cases of the virus.

The pace of new cases of the Delta variant has also slowed a bit and the Region now stands at 596 since the variant was first identified.

There are 187 active cases of COVID-19 in Durham, with nine people currently in hospital and one person in ICU.

There are no new deaths to report.
