Thirteen new COVID-10 cases reported Sunday; Ajax contributes 26 of 68 cases Friday and Saturday

Durham Region reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday after 35 and 33 cases the previous two days.

Ajax contributed the bulk of new cases on Friday and Saturday with 16 and 10 reported, while Oshawa’s four new cases were the highest reported on Sunday.

There are 187 active cases of the virus in the region and the number of cases involving the Delta variant is now up to 637.

There is one retail case after an employee of Farm Boy in Whitby tested positive September 3. Contract tracing began today.

There are still ten people isolating at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa. Four residents have died since the outbreak began August 26.
